Namecheap offer missing eligibility disclaimer — only available to select universities in US, UK, Canada, and Australia #13

Description

Summary

The Namecheap offer on the Student Developer Pack page advertises a free 1-year
.me domain registration with no restrictions mentioned. However, during the actual checkout
process on Namecheap's website, a note reveals the offer is restricted to
students at select universities in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia only —
leaving out the majority of the global student developer community.

Evidence

GitHub Student Pack page (https://education.github.com/pack):

"1 year domain name registration on the .me TLD."
— No geographic or institutional restrictions mentioned.

Namecheap checkout page (screenshot attached):

"Currently we are only offering free .me domains and a discounted rate on
other TLD's to select universities in the US, UK, Canada and Australia."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to https://nc.me/
  2. Search for any desired domain name
  3. Browse the list of available TLDs and click "Add" on one
  4. Click "Complete Order"
  5. On the final checkout page, scroll to the bottom — a note reveals
the geographic and institutional eligibility restriction.

Impact

Students outside these regions go through the entire redemption process only
to discover they are ineligible at the very last step. This is misleading and
disproportionately affects students in underserved regions who make up a
significant portion of the global GitHub student community.

Suggested Fix

Add a short eligibility note to the Namecheap offer on the pack page, such as:

"Available to students at select universities in the US, UK, Canada, and
Australia only."
