Hi,
I have deleted repository and would like it to be permanently removed immediately without the 90-day recovery window.

Unfortunately there's no way to force immediate permanent deletion - the 90-day recovery window is built into GitHub's system and can't be bypassed, even by support.

The repo is already invisible to everyone else though, so from a practical standpoint it's "gone" - only you (the owner) can see and restore it during those 90 days.

If you're worried about sensitive data that was in the repo, just deleting it should be enough since nobody else can access it anymore

Hi Stefan,

When a repository is deleted, it is typically placed into a soft-deleted state for a 90-day recovery window. During this period, it cannot be permanently removed immediately by standard user actions.

At the moment, there isn’t a self-service option to bypass the 90-day retention period. If you require immediate permanent deletion (for example, due to sensitive data concerns), the only available path is to contact the platform’s support team directly and explain the situation. They may be able to assist depending on their internal policies.
